Install AutoDRM 19Jul2003 Instructions on how to install AutoDRM on a UNIX-system ------------------------------------------------------- 1) Install an account autodrm on your UNIX-system (since Version 2.51, AutoDRM runs also on other accounts, but it is recommended to install it under 'autodrm' anyway) 2) login on account autodrm 3) put the compressed tar-file autodrm_3.00beta.tar.Z into the HOME-directory of the autodrm-account ( $HOME ). 4) $ uncompress autodrm_3.00beta.tar.Z 5) >> Note, if you have an older version of AutoDRM installed, remember, that >> the following command will overwrite your old files unless you have saved >> them. It is suggested, you do the following: >> $ cd >> $ mv prog prog_old >> $ mv adm adm_old >> Later you can copy your local code from this saved directories to: >> $HOME/prog/src (e.g. file writewaveform_local.f etc.) >> $HOME/adm/autodrm.rc >> $HOME/adm/autodrm.super >> $HOME/adm/autodrm.help >> BEFORE you do so, verify if the content of the last 3 files is still >> of the same format etc. and modify afterwards accordingly! >> These files are the only ones that are depending on the local site. 6) $ tar xvf autodrm_3.00beta.tar 7) $ cd prog 8) $ Configure # this command configures AutoDRM for your operating system 9) $ cd ../adm In the adm directory: - set the correct e-mail address for your autodrm-account and for the autodrm-operator in file autodrm.rc (the other stuff may be modified later) CHECK this file carefully! It is an important set-up file! - set the super-users mail addresses in the file autodrm.super as desired (can also be done later; this file may also be left empty). 10) Now, a preliminary version of AutoDRM should be running properly...! Check it out by following the instruction given in file ~/prog/TEST.autodrm 11) Modify the most important *_local.f files in the prog/src directory. The really important ones are marked with (GSE2.0) in the $HOME/prog/src/README file. 12) >> AutoDRM is still developed further. If you would like to receive >> information about new versions in the future, send an e-mail to >> urs >> and you will be notified as soon as a new version of AutoDRM is ready. If you have any problems, please contact Urs Kradolfer
